As part of the LoveLula Accredited Blogger Programme I receive the LoveLula Beauty Box*. I highly recommend the beauty box subscription – it’s only £14.95 per month and often the value of the products are more than double or even triple this amount (this month the products are worth a whopping £101!!!). There’s always a good variety of different brands and products in the boxes, and everything is cruelty free (like all LoveLula products). The other thing I love about this beauty box subscription is you receive a voucher code to get 25% off purchases from the brands featured in the box that month which is great if you discover a product you love (or you want to try something else from the brand). So what was in the July box?
Madara Plum Plum Lip Balm* (15ml, £10.00)
I actually already have this lip balm as I bought it when I purchased a Madara beauty box last year. It’s a lovely consistency balm, and very moisturising (it contains Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter, and Plum Oil). The one downside for me is the longevity – it doesn’t last as long as some of the balms I use. I am really fussy with my lip balms though so this is a really minor point and it is a lovely lip balm that I’d definitely recommend.
Kathleen Natural Cleansing Lotion* (150ml, £29.50)
I’ve loved some of the Kathleen products we’ve had in beauty boxes in the past, and some have been so so. I’m pleased to say this fits into the first camp. One confusing thing on the packaging is that it says “Refreshing and Lightening” so some people asked if it was a product that actively lightens skin (like some Asian skincare products do) but it was confirmed in the LoveLula Facebook group that this isn’t the case. What it does do is clarify the skin without drying it. It’s very gentle but effective, and although I’m not usually a fan of cleansing creams/milks/lotions (I prefer balms or gels) I have to say I keep reaching for this and my skin seems to be grateful. It is a bit pricey and I have used quite a bit already so I’m not sure if I’d repurchase it but I am definitely going to enjoy using it and think it’s a really great all-round cleanser for any skin type.
Dafna’s Personal Skincare Summer Heroes Set* (including Purify Cleanser, Active Mist, Moisture Light and Eye Care, £34.00)
This is such a fantastic kit! It’s a brilliant way of trying out Dafna products. I’ve done a reviews in the past of Dafna’s Personal Skincare; one for the Purify Cleanser, one for the Moisture+ Light and Revival Bio-active Beauty Mask and one for the Recovery Cleanser and Nutrition Night Cream. It’s safe to say I like Dafna’s! Here’s my brief thoughts on the items in the beauty bag:
- Purify Cleanser* – I love this; I’ve been testing out the full size and will have a review very soon! It’s a gel cleanser that is really lovely to use.
- Active Mist* – surprisingly refreshing! I’ve been using this as an extra skincare step before my serum and have been really enjoying it (especially in the warmer weather).
- Moisture Light* – I reviewed this before and my view still stands; I really love this moisturiser for my combination skin.
- Eye Care* – I don’t tend to use eye creams but this is a nice one and definitely helps smooth skin under the eyes.
Overall this is a fab kit and I love the bag too. Perfect for testing out during a holiday!
Skin Alchemists Apothecary Sesenne Facial Elixir* (10ml, £30.00)
This is so concentrated! It apparently has 26 skin-loving elements and I can certainly believe that given the scent and from using it. It is a really nice rich face oil that I’ve been using at night. I find it a bit too rich to use in the day so it’s a nice treat for night. It’s a bit too early to comment on any differences as I haven’t been using it every night, but I’ll definitely continue to use it.
This month’s box was a really exciting one for me. I love skincare and there were some really fantastic brands in this box. It’s worth so much more than the price you pay and I’m delighted with it. I’ll pass the lip balm to a friend but only because I already have one – I love all the items in this box. It’s hard to choose a standout product this month but I think it would either be the Kathleen Natural Cleansing Lotion* or the Dafna’s summer heroes kit*. I’ve been receiving the LoveLula Beauty Box for over a year now and I still absolutely love it; I’ve discovered so many great products and it’s such good value. You can subscribe to the LoveLula beauty box* in various different packages – I highly recommend it as it’s a highlight of my month!
I’ve also just noticed that if you like the look of this box you can get it for free if you spend over £70 on LoveLula* at the moment with the code JULYBOX. As it’s worth a whopping £101 and the products are so good, this is an amazing offer and a good reason to stock up from LoveLula at the moment!
