I was recently invited to test out the Purify Cleanser from Dafna’s Skincare. I’ve reviewed a few of the Dafna’s products in the past and really enjoyed them so I was super excited to try this (cleansers are my favourite thing to test!). Now I’ve got the excitement out of the way, let’s get on with the review.
Dafna say about the cleanser:
“Soft lotion- gel cleanser. Leaves skin looking clear, glowing and provides feeling of freshness. Indulgently formulated with eight natural oils and nutrients as Ayurvedic Pomegranate extract, MelaCareTM and Geranium essential oil to allow soft cleansing experience. Removes everyday impurities and unclogs the pores, fights free radicals and the appearance of spots. Reduces hormonal acne.”
Gel cleansers are usually good for my skin, and I do occasionally get hormonal acne so this product seems very much suited to me. My first impressions were that it was thinner than I expected; I was expecting it to be a thickish gel but it’s more liquidy than I’m used to. It’s an interesting colour too; a sort of burnt orange. The scent is really lovely (like all Dafna products).
You apply to dry skin, and you massage it in which feels really lovely. It goes a little like an oil at this point. As you add water, it emulsifies and turns to a sort of cream which you then remove. It’s a very similar product to the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel which I used to love.
When I remove the cleanser, my skin feels lovely and smooth and nourished (not at all dry).
One thing I do find is that you only get a tiny amount with each pump, and it’s not as concentrated as some of the Dafna products so I find I need to use quite a lot (though maybe this is because my skin can be dry?). It is a 100ml bottle anyway, but I was surprised by how many pumps I have to use so I’m not sure how long it will last.
I’ve now been using this cleanser most days (once per day) for 2-3 weeks. My skin does seem to really like it and I think it has helped to calm hormonal blemishes which is amazing.
Luxury cleanser suitable for all skin types, though I would imagine most suitable for dry or combination skin. Enjoyable to use and good short-term and long-term effect on the skin.
I’m not sure I would repurchase this as although I do really like it, I’m not sure the higher price is something I’d stretch to. It is really good for calming my skin though so maybe I would.
